I completed this staircase after 27 hours over a long weekend, just before Christmas. The staircase was not in good condition when my son started 1st grade and I found it important to contact the school in order to set the process in motion for decoration. I remember upon completion of the staircase that I wrapped the staircase door in a large bow, as a gift for the students of the school. The effect is tremendous for the students,both creating a better place  for work  and encouraging  a fantasy filled environment.
