The paintings created upon my arrival to Høyanger in 2005, reflect a tremendous change in setting. It was this environmental change that created such an impact both physically and mentally on me as an artist. The collection of paintings for lack of a better term adopted the title of Bubble paintings, however, I never intended for the images to represent “bubbles”, rather I was interested in the separated images to reflect something that seems so obvious to me. Instead of attempting to portray the stalks and stems of nature, I wanted to allow the images to obtain a more physical ethereal nature. Realizing that this is a contradiction in its self, it is the contradiction that in my opinion is the success of the imagery.[hr]
